Admission Procedure

  1. Separate application forms have to submitted for choice of major subjects. Admission for the academic year 2024-2025 will be made available in ONLINE at umayalwomenscollege.co.in and also can be obtained from the office.
  2. The last date for the receipt of completed application form is the 10th working day from the date of publication of results of the qualifying examinations for UG and PG courses.
  3. Incomplete applications will be rejected.
  4. Admission for the entire courses are based on merit and made through personal interview by the selection committee of the college.
  5. The provisionally selected candidate will be intimated by SMS to the mobile number given in the application.
  6. The list of selected candidates will be put up on the college notice board.
  7. Applicants who receive such communication must appear before the principal with parent / guardian and must be ready to pay fees on the date indicated therein and should produce the following certificates when the admission is confirmed by the principal. Failure to pay the fees on the date or to produce the following necessary certificates in original will entail in the forfeiture of the seat.
    (i) Higher secondary or Equivalent / Degree Mark sheets.
    (ii) Transfer certificate and conduct certificate.
    (iii) Community certificate in the case of MBC/OBC/DNC/BC/SC/ST or at least a temporary certificate duly signed by Gazetted officer (an officer of the Revenue department not lower in rank than Deputy Tahsildar) valid for a year from the date of issue.
    (iv) Income certificate
    (v) Aadhar card
    (vi) Two recent passport size photos
    (vii) Certificate of the proof for differently-abled.
  8. Once a student is admitted to a group no further change of group will be considered.
  9. Candidate and her parent / guardian should submit a declaration in the prescribed form at the time of admission. The original certificates submitted at the time of admission will be returned only after the completion of the course.
  10. If the candidate fails to attend the counseling, the allotted seat will be given to the next person on merit basis.
  11. The college does not accept CAPITATION FEE or DONATION for admission. If anyone promises / offers admission to the college on a consideration of donation, the matter should be brought to the notice of the principal immediately.

Checklist for Online Submission

  1. Online application form
  2. Scanned signature of the applicant and parent
  3. Scanned photograph of applicant
  4. Community certificate (except OC(others) categories)
  5. Attested copy of Higher secondary statement of marks
  6. Attested copies of all available semester mark sheets converted into a single pdf file.

NOTE

  • The name of the candidate and date of birth should be identical in all the original certificates. No correction or overwriting is permitted without attestation/signature of the proper authority.
  • Candidates are informed that the original certificates produced at the time of admission will not be returned under any circumstances in the middle of their students in the college. They are requested to take True copies / Photostat copies of all certificates including examination marks duly attested by Gazetted Officer before submitted to the college. No requests for return of certificates will be entertained during the middle of the course.
  • The acceptance of application does not carry any guarantee for admission into courses of study in the college.
  • Application for extension of time for payment of fees will neither be acknowledged nor entertained.
  • The candidates of the central schools, Kendriya vidyalaya etc., seeking admission are informed that their TC’s should be counter signed by the inspection officer of the institution or by the regional director of central board of secondary education.

Eligibility criteria for various courses

Eligibility criteria for the admission towards various UG courses are a minimum pass(40%) in Higher secondary examination conducted by Government of Tamilnadu or an examination accepted as equivalent thereto by the affiliating University. For PG courses a pass in degree (UG) examinations conducted by any recognized university
