Department Objectives

Department Overview

Department of Information Technology seems to be dedicated to providing a comprehensive education that not only focuses on theoretical knowledge but also emphasizes practical skills and exposure to the rapidly evolving digital world. The Department enriches the curriculum by offering certificate and skill development program. To make the students explore themselves the department provides platform by organizing seminars, workshops. The weekend activity comprises of paper presentation, poster presentation, quiz and debates. Intra department competitions were conducted to bring out the talents of the students. IT Day is celebrating by include of an IT Expo and technical sessions on recent trends in the IT field provides students with exposure to current industry developments. We have produced more than 60 rank holders in the university semester examinations which reflect the quality of education and the academic standards maintained by us. Our students secured placements in various reputed institutions. This is a significant achievement that shows the academic excellence and effectiveness of our department’s effort in preparing them for the professional world.

The Objective of the Programme Information Technology
PEO1   To be able to solve wide range of computing related problems in order to cater to the needs of industry and society
PEO2   To exhibit analytical decision making and problem solving skills by applying research principles for handling dynamic real time challenges.
PEO3   Use their skills in ethical & professional manner to raise the satisfaction level of stakeholders and to take up higher studies, research & development and other creative efforts in science &technology.
PEO4   To function effectively as individuals and team members in the workplace, growing into highly technical or project management and leadership roles.

6 International Conference February Dr.Abdul Rahaman Wahab Syed, Professor,King Faisal University, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, was the keynote speaker and Dr. Kanagaraj, Assistant Professor, Karpagam Academy of Higher Education,  was the chief guest of the technical session
7 Commemorative day – “National Womens Day” February On the occasion of National Womens day , workshop on organic manure was conducted to make women entrepreneur. Ln.Bala M.Somasundaram , President, Thennai Vivasayigal Sangam headed and demonstrated.

3 Weekend Activity

 

 

July As an initiative towards “Go Green and Save Planet”,the department conducted activities continuously(weekly activities) on every Friday and having bench marks in reducing the usage of plastic bags and disposal pens.

August Our department organized a weekend activity that included a “Go Green” chart exhibition, a quiz competition and discussion on importance of  Plastic Recycling and Water Conservation on 25.08.202

 

5 International Conference January Ms.Preetha Sree Adalarasn,BE,MS Yeild Enhancement Engineer Global Foundries,Singapore, was the keynote speaker and Dr. V.Palanisamy,Dean,Student Affair, Senior  Professor and the Head, Dept of Computer Applications,Alagappa University,Karaikudi,  was the chief guest of the technical session
6 IV com Tour

 

 

February Students of final year UG were taken to Hyderabad,Telangana.
7 Carnival 2k24 February Our Department Student won 1st Prize in Carnival 2k24.
8 Commemorative day – “National Womens Day” March On the occasion of National Womens day , Various Cultural Activities are Carried out,Our Department Students Won Prizes for many competiitions
